Humble Beginning
We were playing SimsOnline (TSO) when a friend suggested we join her in Second Life. I had been to Second Life maybe a year earlier when it first launched but left because I couldn’t figure it out. This time Izzy and I joined Second Life together and stayed. Sometimes if we want to go slumming we go back SimsOnline, but it’s not the same. Second Life is so much better. It is what SimsOnline had promised and much more. It has been 2 years now and together we have come a long way from that newbie look and exploring all the options in SL. .
In TSO, we performed wedding ceremonies, hosted receptions and parties. We also had a restaurant and a store. We work well together. Izzy being the business man, we did quite well in all areas. As for me, I let him take over because I am generous to a fault and would have sold the cat, the dog and kids if someone was desperate. The only thing I miss about TSO pizza and being served at the restaurants.
Coming to SL, it is natural for us to open Cole Photography Studio and Art Gallery. Izzy is the real photographer and I just hold the lights, lol. He has a talent for capturing the right angles to project a mood which is not easy with the avatar. I am proud of him. He also covers Live Music Concerts where he has produced some awesome and very professional photos.
I do custom photography – composites, sigs, and portraits. I also own Rituals, unique store with my own creations for gifts and home decor. I have invited a few people to sell their creation in my store. I enjoy providing them the space and exposure they otherwise couldn’t afford on their own. I love helping people to the point I forget about myself.
I also spend time decorating our home and the island. I love to design gardens. I must have more plants in inventory than Hearts or Bliss gardening center put together. There is just something relaxing about planting flowers and decorating the island. It takes me to a place that is quiet and I don’t have to think. Izzy once commented it would be nice if he could just come online and have nothing change –lol, just like a man.
There is also Makeda Park. It is located on our first land on the sim Columbia. Columbia was our first home where we acquired land from the roadside to the beach. When we moved to Cote I’voire, we sold most of the Columbia land but carved out a portion which remains as our first land. I built the park as my way of giving something back to the SL community. My wish is for everyone to enjoy with that special someone or just grabbing some quiet time. It is my way of expressing the love we have for each other and how thankful I am to have him in my life.
We are both very busy now and try to spend some quality time together as often as possible. It is the down time that is special to me as I can drive myself so far but mentally and emotionally need the quality time so important to a relationship and to ones own well being. Cote d’Ivoire is simply heaven. The beach is beautiful where we relax sharing ourselves. It is what we dreamed of and more. Izzy loves it so much he won’t take off those white shorts and put on a shirt (smile). I love it for its serenity and no griefers causing problems. But anywhere he is –is home to me. Anyways, we welcome visitors and love a good conversation, watch the sunset and camp out on the beach. Do drop in, say hello and see what we are about. :)
